Netflix has premiered the teaser trailer for the coming-of-age animated musical comedy feature “Leo,” starring the voices of Adam Sandler and Bill Burr.
The “Uncut Gems” and “Punch-Drunk Love” star Sandler plays Leo, a jaded lizard who has been stuck as a school pet in the same Florida classroom for decades alongside his terrarium-mate turtle (Burr).
When he learns he has one year left to live, he plans to escape to experience life on the outside. Instead, he gets caught up in the problems of his anxious students – including a mean substitute teacher.
The voice cast also includes Cecily Strong, Jason Alexander, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Rob Schneider, Jo Koy, Jackie Sandler, Heidi Gardner, Robert Smigel, Nick Swardson, Stephanie Hsu, and Nicholas Turturro.
Most of said cast will be playing creatures including a variety of hedgehogs and birds. As this is only a teaser, there’s barely a glimpse of anyone outside the core roles.
The film is directed by Robert Marianetti, Robert Smigel, and David Wachtenheim with Sandler, Smigel, and Paul Sado writing the script. The film debuts only on Netflix on November 21st.
