Paramount+ has premiered the teaser trailer for the second season of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” the new run set to kick off on the service on June 15th.
The series serves as a prequel to the original “Star Trek” and follows Captain Christopher Pike and his crew, who boldly go where no one has gone before.
Clocking in at ten episodes, the new season is expected to continue the first’s format of mostly standalone episodes with some ongoing smaller story threads.
One will be a crossover episode with “Star Trek: Lower Decks,” though that’s not seen in this trailer. The clip does tease some other episodes though, including scenes set on the 21st century Earth, Spock taking command at one point, Spock drinking with Klingons, along with a look at Carol Kane as new Chief Engineer Pelia.
All the majors are back, including Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Una ‘Number One’ Chin-Riley, Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock, Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga, and Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas along with Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk.
The trailer is timed with the series finale of “Star Trek: Picard”, which is set to go live on the service in a few hours.
