Marvel Studios has released a first teaser for its upcoming “Wonder Man” meta comedy series, with a full trailer likely coming tomorrow and timed with the Marvel New York Comic Con panel on Saturday.

The teaser showcases the announcement of plans for a modern-day reboot of a classic “Wonder Man” TV series and an interview with filmmaker Von Kovak who has been hired to direct the reboot.

Zlatko Burić, who played Boravian president Vasil Ghurkos in James Gunn’s “Superman,” plays Von Kovak here in brief scenes. We also glimpse shots from an old-fashioned TV series, which is what’s being rebooted, within the narrative.

In the series, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as Simon Williams – a gifted engineer who gains superhuman abilities, including enhanced strength, speed, stamina, durability, reflexes, and agility. He becomes Wonder Man.

Also starring is Demetrius Grosse as Simon’s brother Eric Williams (aka. Grim Reaper), Ed Harris as talent agent Neal Saroyan, and Sir Ben Kingsley as washed up actor Trevor Slattery.

Daniel Destin Cretton and Stella Meghie each direct several episodes while Andrew Guest is head writer. An exact date has not yet been set.
