Peacock has released the teaser trailer for its upcoming “John Wick” prequel spin-off event series “The Continental,” with the three-parter to air in September.
Set 40 years before the events of the films, the series centers around a young man named Winston (Colin Woodell), who will one day become the character played by Ian McShane in the Wick movies.
In the prequel set against the backdrop of 1970s New York, fans will find a young Winston as an up-and-coming hitman hotelier who, along with others, creates a haven for unsavoury types.
The eponymous hotel has been a regular location throughout the franchise. Each instalment of the series is expected to run around 90 minutes long and will premiere over the course of three consecutive nights.
The series also stars newcomer Ayomide Adegun as the young Charon, Mel Gibson as Cormac, Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles, Jessica Allain as Lou, Mishel Prada as KD, Nhung Kate as Yen, Ben Robson as Frankie, Peter Greene as Uncle Charlie, Jeremy Bobb as Mayhew, Ray McKinnon as Jenkins, Adam Shapiro as Lemmy, Mark Musashi as Hansel, Marina Mazepa as Gretel, and Katie McGrath as The Adjudicator.
Dubbed as ‘From the World of John Wick,’ the trailer follows a series of vague teaser posters released in the past 48 hours. Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward serve as showrunners, whilst Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, Basil Iwanyk, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Erica Lee executive produce.
