The teaser trailer has been released for the upcoming Amazon Prime psychological thriller TV series “The Girlfriend” which will launch on the service on September 10th.
In the series, Laura (Robin Wright) wants for nothing. She has a glittering career, a loving husband, Howard (Waleed Zuaiter), and, above all, she has Daniel (Laurie Davidson), her precious only son.
But Laura’s seemingly perfect life is blown apart when Daniel brings home Cherry (Olivia Cooke), the girlfriend who changes everything. Laura becomes convinced that Cherry isn’t who she says she is and quickly grows obsessed with finding out the truth about her identity.
Anna Chancellor, Francesca Corney, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Karen Henthorn, Leo Suter, and Tanya Moodie co-star.
Gabbie Asher and Naomi Sheldon pen this adaptation of the novel by Michelle Frances. Wright is also executive producer and directs some episodes. Jonathan Cavendish, Will Tennant, Phil Robertson, John Zois, Dave Clarke, and Michelle Frances also executive produce.
The series, shot in the UK and Spain, runs for six episodes.
