The recently announced “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” release in cinemas is already looking to do big business.

The title reportedly pulled in around $15 million in pre-sales in the first 24 hours that tickets went on sale after the announcement.

AMC reportedly had its 6th highest day of presales ever, with around half that above figure ($7.5m) going to the major theater chain.

The 89-minute release, which will play for one weekend only in cinemas from October 3rd-5th, is expected to generate around $30-50 million.

Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” concert film debuted to $93.2 million and grossed $267 million worldwide, making a net profit of $172 million. Like that film, Swift and her company went to the exhibitors directly – bypassing the studios.

Reportedly, no trailers for the event will be released, only outdoor digital billboards. Marketing spend is expected to be significantly less than the $55 million spent on Eras Tour film marketing.
