No-one is quite sure what the final total will be at the end of the weekend, but already the “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” concert movie has been something of a roller coaster.

On the one hand, a last-minute announcement of Thursday night previews for the movie didn’t move the needle much – those previews pulling in only $2.8 million which was not unexpected considering they were only announced hours before they took place.

Most hardcore fans booked for today (Friday) and already numbers are looking crazy with the film expected to haul in $40-50 million today alone ahead of a $107-130 million weekend overall.

That said, many are saying how this will go is impossible to predict as despite all the pre-sales, the film could be very front-loaded so its performance tomorrow and Sunday are less clear – it could sink or skyrocket.

As such it’s expected to have the third biggest opening of the year behind “Barbie” and “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”. Reviews are ecstatic with a perfect 100% critics (8.7/10) and audience (4.9/5) score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Meanwhile Blumhouse’s “The Exorcist: Believer” is on track for a second weekend of $11 million – a 58% drop from its debut. “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” “Saw X,” and “The Creator” will round out the top five.
