“Split” and “The Witch” actress Anya Taylor-Joy has reportedly emerged as one of the favorites to play a younger version of Charlize Theron’s Furiosa character in George Miller’s upcoming “Mad Max: Fury Road” spin-off film.
A recent Variety report about delayed productions indicates Miller is actively developing his Furiosa-led prequel film and has already begun speaking via video and phone with possible actresses to take over the role.
Taylor-Joy recently led the new adaptation of “Emma” which scored rave reviews, and will be seen in “The New Mutants” whenever it finally arrives. The “Fury Road” prequel is reportedly still eyeing a 2021 production start date.
