Award-winning “Orphan Black” breakout star Tatiana Maslany will play the title character in Marvel Studios’ “She-Hulk” TV series.
Maslany has reportedly emerged as the choice to play the character in the series according to Deadline who also broke the news earlier this week that Kat Coiro would direct several episodes, including the pilot.
“Rick and Morty” writer Jessica Gao is leading the writers room for the project whilst Marvel didn’t immediately return a call for comment regarding the casting news and it’s not clear at what stage talks are in or if she’s already set her deal.
In the comics, Jennifer Walters, is an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. An emergency blood transfusion from her cousin gives Walters her powers, but unlike Banner/Hulk, She-Hulk was able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulks out.
Maslany was most recently seen on HBO’s “Perry Mason” and in Karyn Kusama’s “Destroyer”.
