Taraji P. Henson Joins “PAW Patrol” Sequel

Paw Patrol The Movie Getting A Sequel
Paramount & Nickelodeon

Taraji P. Henson will lend her voice to Paramount Pictures’ “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” a sequel to this year’s “PAW Patrol: The Movie” which grossed over $150 million worldwide.

The films are based on Nickelodeon and Spin Master Entertainment’s series which debuted in 2013 and follows the young boy Ryder and his crew of search and rescue dogs known as PAW Patrol. The group go on missions to protect their community of Adventure Bay and nearby areas.

In the film sequel, a magical meteor crash lands in Adventure City – giving the PAW Patrol pups superpowers and transforming them into The MIGHTY PUPS!

For Skye, the smallest member of the team, her new powers are a dream come true. But things take a turn for the worse when the pups’ archrival Humdinger breaks out of jail and teams up with Victoria Vance, a meteor-obsessed mad scientist, to steal the superpowers and turn themselves into supervillains.

With the fate of Adventure City hanging in the balance, the Mighty Pups have to stop the supervillains before it’s too late, and Skye will need to learn that even the smallest pup can make the biggest difference.

Veteran animation director Cal Brunker will return to direct from his script with returning writing partner Bob Barlen who will associate produce. The project is targeting a theatrical release on October 13th 2023.

Last year’s film boasted a simultaneous day-and-date release on Paramount+ in the U.S. and quickly became the number one most streamed movie on the platform.
