“Euphoria” and “The White Lotus” breakout Sydney Sweeney is reportedly attached to star in a new take on sci-fi heroine “Barbarella” for Sony Pictures.
Jane Fonda famously played the iconic 41st-century astronaut from Jean Claude Forest’s French comic book series in 1968’s sexy satirical cult hit in which sets out to find and stop the evil scientist Durand Durand from unleashing his Positronic Ray.
The new take reportedly has no writer or director currently attached but Sweeney is also expected to executive produce the film.
It will mark Sweeney’s third upcoming film with Sony alongside “Madame Webb” and “The Registration”.
