A little over two weeks back, Vin Diesel confirmed that the first trailer for “Fast X,” the tenth instalment in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, will arrive in ‘less than two months’ which suggested an early February launch.
That quickly led to speculation that the film would have a spot during the Superbowl on February 12th. It’s a safe bet, as the last few films in the series have all had major Superbowl spots.
Now, further information has been revealed today via Collider, who reports that the film’s first trailer debut will actually take place two days earlier on February 10th.
They indicate Universal Pictures is adopting the same approach it took with “Fast 9” in 2021 by revealing a trailer a few days earlier, then releasing a cut-down version of that (with a few new shots) during the big game.
The site also says the first trailer for the film will come in at “well over three minutes long” and offers a very good idea about what to expect from the Louis Leterrier-helmed film, which serves as the first of a two-parter closing out the main franchise.
“Fast X” is said to sport an eye-watering production budget of around $340 million – the most expensive non-Disney film ever and 70% larger than that of “F9”.
Returnees include Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, John Cena, Charlize Theron, Cardi B, Helen Mirren, Michael Rooker and Scott Eastwood.
They are joined by Jason Momoa, Daniela Melchior, Brie Larson, Rita Moreno and Alan Ritchson in the new outing, with Momoa playing a flamboyant villain.
Filming on “Fast X” took place across London, Rome, Turin, Lisbon, and Los Angeles, and more recently, there have been rumors that Gal Gadot will reprise her role of Gisele Yashar in the film in a cameo. The film will hit cinemas on May 19th.
