Not including the announcement teaser a few months ago, the first proper trailer for “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” will drop during a Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday November 12th at 6am US-PT.
Nintendo made the announcement today. The trailer is expected to be attached to copies of “Wicked: For Good” when it hits cinemas on November 21st.
The news comes as it appears a first look at Yoshi in the film has leaked via Pillsbury promo packaging. That art can be seen at Stealth40K.
Nintendo and Illumination announced that returning voice actors for the new film will include Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Kay as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Additional characters and voice cast will be announced at a later date. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic return as directors while Brian Tyler is doing the score.
Producer and Illumination chief Chris Meledandri previously confirmed that the “Super Mario Galaxy” games’ story will serve as the core for the new film’s story, but adds there’ll be plenty of “surprises for fans of every Mario era”.
The first film went on to grossed $1.361 billion worldwide – the second-highest-grossing film of 2023, the third-highest-grossing animated film of all time, and the eighteenth-highest-grossing film of all time.
