E3 may be cancelled again this year, but we’re about to have a very busy week for the world of gaming, kicking off with Apple’s WWDC keynote in a few hours where a new VR/AR headset is rumored to be revealed.
Then from the middle of this week comes Summer Game Fest, which will feature numerous panels. The biggest by far will be the Summer Game Fest 2023 Showcase which kicks off on Thursday afternoon with a two-hour show streamed live from the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California.
The other big presentation is the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. Following the overall disappointment to everything not “Spider-Man 2” at Sony’s Showcase last week, Microsoft aims to get back in the fight with Xbox’s marketing VP Aaron Greenberg confirming on Twitter that there’ll be no fully CG cutscene trailers at the presentation – everything should have at least some gameplay.
There’s no Nintendo Direct this year, but there will be a Ubisoft Forward showcase showing off their big franchises. All these panels will be streamed on YouTube and other outlets with the biggest events and their times being:
Summer Game Fest 2023 Showcase
Content from over 40 publishers, including PlayStation and Xbox, will be showcased over two hours and is expected to show off some of the Fall’s biggest titles both announced and yet to be revealed. Airs: Thursday, June 8th at 12pm US-PT, 3pm US-ET, 8pm BST, and 5am Friday AU-EST.
Xbox Games Showcase & Starfield Direct
A two-hour presentation showing off Xbox’s upcoming slate with titles both previously announced along with several new titles. It will include a lengthy “Starfield” Direct presentation at the end. Airs: Sunday, June 11th 10am US-PT, 1pm US-ET, 6pm BST & 3am Monday AU-EST
Ubisoft Forward Showcase
Showcasing “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora,” “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” and “The Crew: Motorfest” along with an unannounced title. Airs: Monday June 12th 10am US-PT, 1pm US-ET, 6pm BST & 3am Tuesday AU-EST
