“Suits” Shatters “Stranger Things” Record

USA Network

The resurgence of USA Network’s “Suits” has broken a new milestone.

The Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, and Meghan Markle-led series, which finished its run four years ago, became available on Netflix on June 23rd.

It set a viewing time record for an acquired series in a single week (June 26th-July 2nd) with 3.14 billion minutes of watch time recorded according to ratings giant Nielsen.

Now, after almost two months more worth of numbers, the series has managed to pull in 26.5 billion viewing minutes. More specifically however, it has maintained 3 billion streaming minutes per week for seven weeks.

That’s a new record, beating a record previously held by the fourth season of Netflix original series “Stranger Things” with new run episodes. That series still holds the eight-week streaming record total with a stunning 35.5 billion minutes viewed.

But that viewing record was also set by Netflix splitting the season in two, and thus the second half spurred on extra viewing in the latter weeks of its window.

“Suits,” on the other hand, is a previously aired show with no further content to be added. It does have more episodes available on hand though with 134 episodes across nine seasons.
