“Succession” star Jeremy Strong is set to lead and executive produce an Amazon Prime limited series about the controversial Boeing 737 Max planes.
Currently untitled, the project examines the events surrounding the plane and will reflect various perspectives. Strong will play a composite engineer.
The Boeing 737 Max was grounded worldwide in 2019 following two fatal jet crashes. Investigations found a flaw in the ‘MCAS’ – a part of the automated flight control system.
Boeing was charged with fraud and admitted that two of its flight technical pilots misled the FAA about the flight system. Last year the company agreed to pay $2.5 billion in a settlement.
Oscar-winning “Argo” screenwriter Chris Terrio will pen and executive produce the series currently in early development at Amazon Studios and Plan B.
