Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Himesh Patel, Timothee Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Matthew Perry and Tomer Sisley are all joining Jennifer Lawrence in the ensemble cast of “The Big Short” and “Vice” director Adam McKay’s new film “Don’t Look Up” at Netflix and Paramount Pictures.
The story follows two low-level astronomers who embark on a media tour to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that will destroy Earth.
DiCaprio was the tricky one to land, but a schedule has been worked out so he can shoot this and Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” at Apple.
McKay will write, direct and co-produce along with Kevin Messick. Release plans aren’t clear as yet, though its possible Paramount will give it a short theatrical bow ahead of a Netflix global release.
