“Stranger Things” Team Plan Out Their Endgame

Netflix’s “Stranger Things” stalled in production on its fourth season just a few weeks after it began due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it’s not clear when the new season will resume filming let alone get a release.

Creators Ross Duffer and Matt Duffer recently spoke about their show with THR and confirmed that despite previous comments from Matt Duffer that they only expected the show to run for four seasons, the upcoming run will NOT be the show’s last. Ross Duffer says:

“Season four won’t be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The delay] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story.”

Matt Duffer also says that the break has given them more time to write and really work out the new season’s plan:

“We’ve had a lot more time to work on the scripts. For the first time, we have all the scripts written and we’re able to look at it as a whole piece and make adjustments.”

David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp and Winona Ryder all return for the fourth season which will potentially shoot again before the year is out.
