“Stranger Things” Earnings, Spin-Off, Finale Talk

Netflix

More details on the upcoming fifth and final season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” have emerged via a series of articles and interviews across Time & Variety

First up, the body of Shannon Purser’s Barb character will appear in the new season. A reporter visiting the set confirms her body, which was pulled into the Upside Down in the first season, is still there and is a part of one of the sets of the new season.

The same report indicates via Parrot Analytics that the series has earned an estimated “2 million new subscribers and over $1 billion in revenue for Netflix since 2020” which was after the third season aired. Total lifetime revenue for the series should be well over $2 billion.

Next, a profile piece on the series creators has the Duffer Brothers confirming that the show spin-off is still in the works, but there’s no timetable for it. The Duffers are asking fans for patience as it’ll be ready when it’s ready. The new series will “live in a different world” but have “connective tissue” to the main series.

Next, the final episode is confirmed to be two hours long and the Duffers wanted to put the finale into movie theaters, but Netflix isn’t planning to do that.

The first volume of “Stranger Things” Season 5 arrives on November 26th while Volume 2 will be released on December 25th and Volume 3 on December 31st.
