Disney has announced that its animated feature “Strange World,” released just this past Thanksgiving in cinemas, is coming to the Disney+ service on December 23rd.
The costly animated pulp adventure film bombed at the box office, having grossed just $30 million domestically and $50 million worldwide since its opening several weeks ago. Reviews have been mixed.
The story centers around a legendary family of explorers, the Clades, as they attempt to navigate an uncharted, treacherous land alongside a motley crew that includes a mischievous blob called Splat; Legend, the family dog; and a slew of ravenous creatures.
Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Gabrielle Union and Lucy Liu co-star while Don Hall and Qui Nguyen directed.
They’re in their element when exploring this world…
