Stephen King’s “Regulators” Film Coming

Stephen Kings Regulators Film Coming

A film adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Regulators” is in the works at Bohemia Group, with George Cowan adapting the script which King has reportedly approved.

The story unfolds in Wentworth, Ohio where the peace of an everyday suburban street is shattered when four vans containing shotgun-wielding ‘regulators’ terrorize the street’s residents, killing anyone foolish enough to venture outdoors.

Houses transform into log cabins, and the street now ends in what looks like a child’s hand-drawn western landscape. Masterminding all this is an evil creature who has taken over the body of an autistic boy whose parents were killed in a drive-by shooting months earlier.

The novel began life as a film script with King scoring notes on it from filmmaker Sam Peckinpah shortly before he died. It’s mostly known as the companion/sister work to the more high-profile King novel “Desperation” as both contain the same characters, albeit in different circumstances. King wrote the work under his pseudonym Richard Bachman.
