YouTube and Lionsgate have released the official trailer and set a January 31st premiere date for all ten episodes of “Step Up: High Water,” YouTube Red’s new original drama series based on the $650 million grossing film franchise.
Ne-Yo (“The Wiz”) and Naya Rivera (“Glee”) lead the series which follows several ambitious young dancers in a contemporary performing arts school in Atlanta. Issues of diversity and complex relationships blend with serious dance moves in a melting pot.
Faizon Love, Lauryn McClain, Petrice Jones, Marcus Mitchell, Jade Chynoweth, Carlito Olivero, Terrence Green, R. Marcos Taylor, Eric Graise and Kendra Oyesanya co-star.
Holly Sorenson (“Recovery Road”) created the series and executive produces alongside Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gibgot and Meredith Milton.
