Statham Pulls Out Of “Man from Toronto”

Just six weeks away from filming, Jason Statham has pulled out of the action comedy “The Man From Toronto” at Sony Pictures.

Statham’s deal reportedly never closed to appear in the film and so the studio is rushing to find his replacement. The actor reportedly wanted an edgier R-rating vehicle, but the studio wants something for all audiences given the film’s current Thanksgiving release.

The project would have seen a re-teaming Statham and Kevin Hart who shared scenes in last year’s “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw”. The story begins when the world’s deadliest assassin, known as the Man from Toronto, and a New York City screw-up run into each other at an Airbnb. A clash of personalities, and a clash with deadly killers, ensues.

Patrick Hughes (“The Hitman’s Bodyguard”) is directing the film which has set a November 20th release. Robbie Fox penned the script from a story by Fox and Jason Blumenthal.
