Kevin Hart and Jason Statham are in negotiations to team up for the action-comedy “The Man From Toronto” at Sony Pictures. Both actors briefly shared scenes in this year’s “Hobbs & Shaw”.
The story uses a case of mistaken identity as its jumping-off point after the world’s deadliest assassin, known as the Man from Toronto, and a New York City screw-up run into each other at an Airbnb. A clash of personalities, and a clash with deadly killers, ensues.
Patrick Hughes (“The Hitman’s Bodyguard,” “The Expendables 3”) directs the film which aims to begin shooting in March ahead of a November 20th release. Robbie Fox wrote the script from a story by Fox and Jason Blumenthal, with the latter producing alongside Todd Black and Steve Tisch.
