Starz is reportedly developing a prequel to its hit romantic time-travel drama series “Outlander”.
Executive producer and showrunner Matthew B. Roberts is reportedly attached to write and executive produce with a writers room currently being assembled.
Work on the series is reportedly slated to begin in the coming weeks, but plot specifics are under wraps. The current “Outlander” has been adapting a single book per season of Diana Gabaldon’s novel series.
Ronald D. Moore, who developed “Outlander” for television, will also executive produce along with Maril Davis for Sony Pictures Television.
The sixth season of “Outlander” commences March 6th on Starz with a seventh season already greenlit.
