The third episode of The CW’s DC crossover event series “Crisis on Infinite Earths” aired last night, the five-parter will now take a break for a month before coming back with its last two parts next month.
In the wake of that broadcast though, two important trailers aired – the official teaser trailer for “Stargirl” along with a trailer for the remaining two ‘Crisis’ episodes.
The “Stargirl” clip offers a look at Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) wielding the Cosmic Staff in full costume along with the demise of JSA Member Starman (Joel McHale) and Courtney’s father Pat Dugan, aka Stripesy (Luke Wilson). “Stargirl” will premiere on The CW and DC Universe in Spring 2020
Next comes the trailer for the fourth episode of “Crisis on Infinite Earths”. Only a handful of heroes, trapped in the Vanishing Point, remain to stop the Anti-Monitor.
Having wiped out all the Earths in the present, time travel now comes into play with the Paragons going to the Dawn of Time to stop the Anti-Monitor from ensuring that the multiverse never existed. The fourth and fifth episode arrive on January 14th.
In related news, “Reno 911” staple Thomas Lennon is confirmed to star as Mr. Mxyzptlk in the current fifth season of “Supergirl”. The actor will recur in the role of the mercurial reality-bending trickster ‘Mxy’ who previously visited National City (Peter Gadiot played that incarnation) to woo Kara Danvers but created chaos in the process.
Over on “Arrow”, which will air a few more episodes after ‘Crisis’, leading man Stephen Amell tells Collider that the series finale will contain the “action sequence to end all action sequences” and that “every stunt guy, more or less who has ever worked on the show, even guys that retired or are coordinating on Supergirl or Flash or Legends, everybody came out”.
The “Arrow” finale airs January 28th.
