Paramount+ has announced a January 15th 2026 premiere date for its upcoming “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” series.
Two episodes of the series will launch on that date with new episodes dropping weekly afterwards through until March 12th.
In addition, Stephen Colbert is officially joining the cast of the show. He will play Starfleet Academy’s Digital Dean of Students, giving daily announcements to the students and alerting them of anything that needs their immediate attention.
A new trailer for the series, which stars the likes of Holly Hunter, Paul Giamatti, Tig Notaro, Robert Picardo, while Oded Fehr, Gina Yashere and Mary Wiseman guest star.
The series follows a fresh class of cadets as they train under the watchful, demanding eyes of Starfleet’s finest – Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané, Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins, Bella Shepard, and Zoë Steiner play the group.
As previously announced, the series has already been renewed for a second season. Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau serve as co-showrunners.
