Lucasfilm

Lucasfilm began the final day of the Star Wars Celebration convention by releasing the first trailer for the second volume of the acclaimed anthology series “Star Wars: Visions”.

The preview shows off looks at the nine shorts that make up the new volume, two of which are highly anticipated efforts from “Wallace and Gromit” and “Shaun the Sheep” creators Aardman Animations in the UK, and Ireland’s Cartoon Saloon (“Wolfwalkers,” “Song of the Sea”). Their shots are titled “I Am Your Mother” and “Screecher’s Reach,” respectively.

Other shorts include “Sith” from Spain’s El Guiri, “In the Stars” from Chile’s Punkrobot, “Journey to the Dark Head” from South Korea’s Studio Mir, The Spy Dancer” from France’s Studio La Cachette, “The Bandits of Golak” from India’s 88 Pictures, “The Pit” from Japan’s D’art Shtajio teaming with Lucasfilm, and “Aau’s Song” from South Africa’s Triggerfish.

The season boasts a variety of animation styles and stories – fluctuating between 2D, 3D, and stop-motion along with various stylised takes on the “Star Wars” universe. Each short was influenced by the history of the studio’s country.

The full voice cast list has also been included, with Denis Lawson reprising his Wedge Antilles role from the original trilogy in the Aardman short, along with the likes of Anjelica Huston, Daveed Diggs, Daniel Dae Kim, Cynthia Erivo and Anika Noni Rose among the many lending their voice talents.

“Star Wars: Visions – Volume 2” will stream exclusively on Disney+ beginning May 4th.
