Lucasfilm

Production has reportedly wrapped on “Star Wars: The Acolyte” ahead of the show’s 2024 release according to Bespin Bulletin. Both first and second unit are said to have wrapped with the cast in the UK last month.

There was a question over the status of the series due to the WGA writer’s strike, but it sounds like they were able to complete filming after all. Reportedly smaller units remain active whilst the series now heads into post-production which could take up to a year.

“The Acolyte” is dubbed a mystery-thriller that takes viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.

A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of mysterious murders, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.

The official cast includes Amandla Stenberg (“The Hate U Give”), Lee Jung-jae (“Squid Game”), Manny Jacinto (“Nine Perfect Strangers”), Dafne Keen (“His Dark Materials”), Jodie Turner-Smith (“Queen & Slim”), Rebecca Henderson (“Inventing Anna”), Charlie Barnett (“Russian Doll”), Dean-Charles Chapman (“Game of Thrones”) and Carrie-Anne Moss (“The Matrix”).

Leslye Headland created the series, serves as showrunner and executive producer. Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef are executive producing.

The news comes as the in the middle of filming second season of “Andor,” and the early in the works fourth season of “The Mandalorian” both halted production due to the strike.
