“Star Wars,” Indy & “Deadpool 3” Rumors

Lucasfilm

The latest episode of The Hot Mic with John Rocha and Jeff Sneider has reported a couple of rumors related to several major Disney franchise projects today.

First up, they indicate Owen Wilson will reportedly reprise his “Loki” role of Mobius in “Deadpool 3”. It’s not clear how big of a role this agent from the Time Variance Authority has in the film which is expected to straddle the multiverse.

Wilson is reprising his role for the upcoming second season of “Loki” which will see variants of Jonathan Majors’ Kang also appearing in the story.

Next, they indicate Lucasfilm is rumored to be announcing three new movies at the Star Wars Celebration convention next month. One is likely the already well-reported on one being directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and penned by Steven Knight.

Taika Waititi and Shawn Levy have been linked to helm their own “Star Wars” projects so it could either be both of those, or one of those and something not yet reported on. We’ll find out in a few weeks.

Finally, the report indicates Disney is NOT moving forward with its rumored “Indiana Jones” series first reported on back in November.

According to Sneider, Disney reportedly told Lucasfilm that they have to focus solely on “Star Wars” content going forward which means the upcoming “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” film will indeed be that franchise’s last hurrah.
