Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that he has shot his last scenes for the fourth, and his final, outing in “The Expendables” franchise.
The 75-year-old actor announced he’d wrapped his scenes on Instagram today, adding that it was a bittersweet wrap-up. He adds that he’s “ready to pass the baton on to Jason [Statham] and his capable hands.”
Stallone co-wrote the first three films, directed the first one, and served as the main star in the first three. The new film sees his character of Barney Ross taking on more of a supporting role with Statham’s Lee Christmas coming to the fore.
Thus the film’s filming has some way to go as the production only kicked off three weeks ago. Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Megan Fox, 50 Cent, Andy Garcia and Tony Jaa co-star in the movie which will open sometime next year.
