“Overlord” director Julius Avery and actor/writer Sylvester Stallone are teaming for a new original superhero thriller “Samaritan” which has just announced its supporting cast.
Stallone will play a retired superhero sought after by a young boy, a child boxing prodigy, who is unsure if he’s still alive. “Euphoria” actor and five-time Georgia state boxing champion Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton has been set as the kid.
Martin Starr (“Silicon Valley”), Pilou Asbaek (“Game of Thrones”), Dascha Polanco (“When They See Us”) and Moises Arias (“Monos”) will co-star. Avery will direct a screenplay from Bragi F. Schut, Mark L. Smith, Zak Penn and Chuck MacLean.
United Artists is targeting a December 11th release this year.
