Filmmaker James Gunn has confirmed that Sylvester Stallone will be providing the voice of King Shark in the upcoming “The Suicide Squad” film at Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films.
Stallone confirmed he was involved in the film in November, but no-one was quite sure what his role was. We already knew Steve Agree was playing the King Shark character on set along with a supporting role as Belle Reve warden John Economos.
The just-released trailer however, with the character uttering the phrase “Hand!,” sounded like Stallone. Shortly after its release, Gunn then confirmed that is Stallone doing the voice.
Stallone and Gunn first worked together on “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” where Stallone played the Ravager Stakar Ogord. With his confirmation, that leaves only the question of what role filmmaker Taika Waititi is playing with best guesses right now being the original Ratcatcher.
The King Shark character has made a few appearances in live-action on The CW’s “The Flash” voiced by “Metal Gear Solid” alum David Hayter, and as a main character on the “Harley Quinn” animated series.
