“Squid Game” Season 2 Sets Full Cast

Netflix

Following the announcement of its first few additions at its Tudum event the other week, Netflix has now revealed all the remaining cast members set to join the second season of its massive hit series “Squid Game”.

The new additions include Park Gyu-young (“Sweet Home”), Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim (“Move to Heaven”), Lee David (“The Fortress”), Lee Jin-uk (“Sweet Home”), Choi Seung-hyun (“Tazza: The Hidden Card”), Roh Jae-won (“Missing Yoon”), and Won Ji-an (“D.P.”).

They join returnees from the first season, like Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun, Lee Byung-hun as the Front Man, Gong Yoo as the recruiter, and Wi Ha-jun as detective Hwang Jun-ho.

Previously announced new additions include Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-nuel, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun in undisclosed roles. Filming on the new run is expected to begin this Summer and will likely last for an expected ten months.

The first season premiered as a Netflix original in late 2021 and quickly became a global sensation, racking up 1.65 billion hours of viewing in the first 28 days after its premiere. To this day it remains Netflix’s single biggest series success story.

A new report in The Los Angeles Times indicates the series, made for about $2.4 million an episode, increased the value of the company by an estimated $900 million.

Despite that success, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk says as part of his contract he has forfeited all intellectual property rights and received no residuals for the show, which only earned him “enough to put food on the table”.

A release of the second season is not expected until late 2024 at the earliest or possibly sometime in 2025.
