Some key release date changes today starting with the Peter Jackson documentary “The Beatles: Get Back” which has been delayed a full year.
Originally slated for a September 4th debut this year, it will now arrive a year later on August 27th 2021. The doco includes footage from studio sessions never been seen or heard before, as well as their final live performance on a rooftop in London.
Next, Searchlight’s Armando Iannucci-directed Dickens adaptation “The Personal History of David Copperfield” starring Dev Patel will get a limited theatrical run on August 14th.
Jonathan Butterell’s adaptation of the stage play “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie” has been delayed three months and will now open January 22nd next yesr.
IFC Films has acquired the North American rights to “Blithe Spirit” starring Judi Dench, Dan Stevens, Isla Fisher and Leslie Mann with a late 2020 release planned – though no official date is yet set.
Finally the Dave Bautista-led “My Spy” will launch direct on Amazon Prime on June 26th. Bautista plays a hardened CIA operative who has been demoted and finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl whom he has to protect.
