“Spiral,” “Antebellum,” “Run” All Delayed

The late April/May exodus of movie releases continues as the U.S. buckles down for at least two months of what looks like no new theatrical releases.

Lionsgate has delayed the release of Chris Rock‘s new “Saw” franchise film “Spiral” on May 15th, the Janelle Monae thriller “Antebellum” on April 24th and the Sarah Paulson movie “Run” on May 8th.

The films will remain undated for the time being as Lionsgate evaluates next steps, dates and strategies for bringing them back once exhibition infrastructure is back on track.

Roadside Attractions romantic drama “The Secret: Dare To Dream” starring Katie Holmes and Josh Lucas has postponed its April 17th release, no new date as yet.

At present only a handful of films remain on the schedule before June including “Saint Maud” on April 10th, “My Spy” and “Promising Young Woman” on April 17th, “Bad Trip” on April 24th, “Scoob!” on May 15th, “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run” on May 22nd, and both “Artemis Fowl” and “Green Knight” on May 29th.
