Spielberg Shoots His First Music Video

After a half-century of filmmaking, director Steven Spielberg has finally filmed his first ever music video.

Shot in a New York high school gym on July 3rd, Spielberg used an iPhone for the single shot video of the song “Cannibal” for folk singer Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons.

The musician shared the news via his official Twitter account along with a series of behind-the-scenes photos of the set. The shots show Spielberg not only filming but his wife Kate Capshaw serving as a makeshift dolly grip for the filming (along with being producer and art director).

Also on hand was Mumford’s spouse, actress Carey Mulligan who handled sound and costumes. As was longtime Spielberg film producer Kristie Macosko Krieger who produced and handled the BTS videography.

The song is a part of Mumford’s upcoming album which hits stores on September 16th. Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical film “The Fabelmans” opens in cinemas on November 23rd.

The music video itself is now up on YouTube.
