Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Homecoming” has opened to an impressive $15.4 million on Thursday night.
That is the third highest Thursday night preview gross of the year so far behind only “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” at $17 million, and “Beauty and the Beast” at $16.3 million.
The box office forecast for the film’s opening weekend now sits in the $100-115 million range. Critics have been raving about the film, while post-screening audience surveys by comScore/PostTrak have seen 48% of exiting people rate the film excellent, another 38% as very good.
