Game developer Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that Spider-Man will be coming to their upcoming “Marvel’s Avengers,” but there’s a catch – he’ll be a free post-launch Playstation-exclusive character.
In a lengthy blog post, associate art director Jeff Adams revealed that their Spider-Man will be an original take on the classic webslinger made specifically for this game as opposed to re-using one of the characters from the acclaimed PS4 game from Insomniac Games.
His suit designs are under wraps but are expected to draw inspiration from the classic designs from Steve Ditko and John Romita Sr. and the character won’t debut in the title until early 2021 as an in-game event for PS4 & PS5 owners.
A video is also out looking into customisation of gear, skills, outfits and more. “Marvel’s Avengers” will hit PS4, Xbox One X, Stadia, and PC on September 4th with PS5 and Xbox SX versions later in the year.
