Disney+ has announced that seven “Spider-Man” films and “Venom” will be launching on the streaming service from Friday, June 17th… but only in select countries outside North America.
So far Australia, the UK and Japan have all been confirmed to be receiving the films with other countries where the service is active potentially scoring the titles on that date as well (but not yet confirmed).
The titles will include all of Sam Raimi’s original “Spider-Man” trilogy, both Andrew Garfield-led films, the Oscar-winning animated “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse,” and the first of the Tom Holland-led films “Spider-Man: Homecoming”.
The inclusion of these Sony Pictures titles appears to have arisen from a deal between Disney and Sony as a press release sent to Dark Horizons confirms additional titles from Sony Pictures’ film and television library are expected to premiere on Disney+ in Australia later this year.
