Despite reports suggesting she had, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” actress Melanie Scrofano has confirmed she is NOT going to star in Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” film, which is currently shooting in the UK.

The actress said in a posting on social media: “Sorry to disappoint, but also that’s on you for not knowing that I’m full of s— (with a can-do attitude)”. Scrofano was in Glasgow for a “Wynonna Earp”-related event while the recent filming of action sequences for the new “Spider-Man” has been going on.

The actress posted a picture of herself on Instagram doing a Spidey-style crawl on a lamppost while jokingly saying, “Sorry if my new movie interfered with your travel times”. Outlets quickly ran with the story as if the posting confirmed she was in the film.

The talk comes as a report over at Kristan Harloff is claiming that “Stranger Things” star Sadie Sink is not playing an X-Men character as previously reported, rather there’s a “pretty good guarantee” she will take on the role of Gwen Stacy in the new film.

Meanwhile, more set photos are coming out from the production, these ones are notably different to the wire swinging action of the past week.

In the photos, which were taken in London rather than Scotland, Tom Holland appears in a scene visiting the gravesite of May Parker (Marisa Tomei). Zendaya was also seen, but according to onlookers, she wasn’t filming a scene (ala Happy Hogan’s visit to the grave at the end of ‘No Way Home’), rather she was there to support Holland.

Production on the film is expected to continue throughout the rest of the year ahead of the movie’s opening on July 31st 2026.
