Early filming has apparently begun on the third Tom Holland-led “Spider-Man” film in New York City.
Sony Pictures’ executive marketing director in Brazil, Camila Pacheco, reportedly revealed (via Murphy’s Multiverse) that the film is still tracking for its December 2021 release date and we may get a first look featurette as early as this December.
Photos are already popping up on social media of signage in Queens, New York which boasts the film’s known working title – “Serenity Now”. The new film sees Tom Holland return as the titular wall-crawler alongside Zendaya’s MJ, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange and Jamie Foxx returning as a different form of Electro.
The filming talk comes as actor Chris Hemsworth has confirmed on Twitter that another Marvel Studios project, “Thor: Love and Thunder,” will begin production in January in Sydney, Australia. Hemsworth says director Taika Waititi is “writing the script currently” and the film remains on track for a February 2022 release.
