When it was announced that Sony would be skipping this year’s E3 convention, and then later confirming they wouldn’t hold a PlayStation Experience this year, the belief became that they planned to hold their own presentation with game announcements and reveals.
That has turned out to be sort of accurate. Today, Sony announced a new PlayStation-centric video presentation called ‘State of Play’ with the first episode set to debut on Monday, March 25th at 2pm US-PST.
Much like the ‘Nintendo Directs’ videos, these will offer ‘updates and announcements from the world of PlayStation’ with the first episode to feature new PS4 & PSVR software, including new trailers, game announcements, and gameplay footage.
State of Play will be returning ‘throughout the year’ with additional updates and announcements, but won’t be on regularly scheduled dates. The showcase will be streamed live on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook worldwide with a VOD soon to follow after the episode airs.
