“The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” “Mission: Impossible III” and “Star Trek Into Darkness” scribe Roberto Orci has been hired to pen a yet-to-be-titled Marvel film currently in the works at Sony Pictures.
While Sony is building its own little universe of Marvel films like “Venom” and “Morbius” which are based on notable Spider-Man characters, the new film is said to be a new character that comes from a very different part of the Marvel Universe – but one that Sony currently has access to.
That likely rules him out of the films like “Kraven the Hunter” and “Silk” which are in development. Orci was once involved with preparation on a Sinister Six film at Sony, but that project collapsed. Palak Patel will oversee the project for the studio.
