Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 will arrive November 12th in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Mexico and South Korea. The rest of the world will get it a week later on November 19th.
The date also comes with the price announcement with the console with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive retailing for USD $499, while the Digital Edition goes for USD $399. Both versions of the console go on sale on launch day.
The announcement was part of the company’s latest game showcase which has just wrapped and includes a bunch of trailers including gameplay demos of “Spider-Man: Miles Morales” and “Demon’s Souls,” new trailers for “Resident Evil Village,” “Crash Bandicoot 4,” “Oddworld: Soulstorm” and a special edition of “Devil May Cry 5”.
There was also game announcements including an early tease for “God of War: Ragnarok,” the “Harry Potter”-inspired “Hogwarts Legacy,” and sequels including “Final Fantasy XVI: Awakening” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach”.
Sony also announced the PlayStation Plus collection, an online service offering free downloads to eighteen top PlayStation 4 titles for PS4 and PS5 users including a significant portion of the major Sony exclusives of the past generation.
Said exclusives include “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” “God of War,” “Bloodborne,” “The Last of Us: Remastered,” “Persona 5,” “inFamous Second Son,” “Days Gone,” “Until Dawn,” “Detroit: Become Human,” “The Last Guardian,” and “Ratchet & Clank”.
Also included are third party titles like “Monster Hunter,” “Final Fantasy XV,” “Fallout 4,” “Mortal Kombat X,” “Battlefield 1,” “Batman Arkham Knight” and “Resident Evil 7 Biohazard”.
