Netflix has revealed new details regarding the various characters in Zack Snyder’s epic two-part action sci-fi feature “Rebel Moon” which unveils its first part on December 22nd.
The fantasy epic begins when a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius.
The desperate civilians dispatch Kora, a young woman who has a mysterious past, to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them challenge the regent.
Here are the official character descriptions released by the streamer:
Sofis Boutella’s Kora – an Imperium deserter who leaves the peaceful Veldt to fight back.
Ed Skrein’s Admiral Atticus Noble – a nefarious Imperium enforcer of the harshest type of military savageness. A ruthless, cold man who has cast morality aside in the name of ambition.
Charlie Hunnam’s Kai – is a mercenary pilot whose Tawau-Class freighter will prove invaluable to Kora’s quest.
Michiel Huisman’s Gunnar – is a Veldt farmer who knows little of the galaxy outside of his small, quiet corner of the galaxy.
Djimon Hounsou’s General – a hardened gladiator who once served the Imperium.
Staz Nair’s Tarak – a noble indentured servant who shares a bond with a flying creature called a Bennu.
Doona Bae’s Nemesis – is a cyborg sword master whose mechanical hands allow her to wield molten-metal weapons.
Ray Fisher’s Darrian Bloodaxe – an insurgent who has been harrying the Imperium with guerilla attacks
E. Duffy’s Milius – a refugee who seeks justice for their home — a colony that has already fallen to the Mother World.
Anthony Hopkins as the voice of Jimmy – an ancient robot knight that once defended a slain king but has now faded into a more peaceful existence.
Snyder directs from a screenplay he is co-writing with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad based on a story by Snyder and Johnstad. Snyder also produces alongside Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller.
