HBO Max will release “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” in 2021, the long-awaited ‘Snyder Cut’ version of his 2017 DC Comics team-up feature which will include a bunch of new footage, new visual effects and a reconfiguring of the film’s narrative.
Snyder has long been teasing the differences between the heavily reworked by Joss Whedon theatrical cut and his original vision for the project. One difference, which is quite visible in the film’s trailers as compared to the final film, is that of the climactic battle in Russia.
Whedon’s cut of the film tints much of the sky into an ugly reddish color whereas going by the original trailers the sky of Snyder’s version was a typical heavy thunderstorm cool grey-blue tone. Now on Vero, Snyder has confirmed that red sky change won’t be returning for his cut.
Whedon reportedly reshot around 80 script pages, suggesting that we should expect a massive difference between the two cuts. Snyder won’t be doing any reshoots for the new take for HBO Max.
