Snyder Promotes BvS: Ultimate On HBO Max

HBO Max has swapped its copy of the “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” theatrical cut for the half-hour longer ultimate edition version over the weekend and director Zack Snyder wasted no time spreading the news with a tweet.

The new edition arrives over a month ahead of the DC FanDome virtual event where Snyder will screen new footage from ‘The Snyder Cut’ set to arrive on HBO Max in 2021.

Snyder also included a new poster made special for the release with Ben Affleck as Batman. HBO Max also announced the version’s arrival on the platform on their Instagram, pointing out the film’s three-hour runtime.

The push comes as Kevin Smith late last week on his Fatman Beyond podcast said he had a conversation with a member of the FX team on “Justice League” saying filmmaker Joss Whedon “would cut down, dismiss, and be negative about Zack’s version, which he had seen, and all [the special effects team] had made together without him.”
