Will Smith and Kevin Hart are set to lead a remake of John Hughes 1987 road trip comedy “Planes, Trains & Automobiles” which has been setup at both Paramount Pictures and the pair’s two production companies – Westbrook Studios and Hartbeat Productions.
Steve Martin and John Candy starred in the original as a mismatched duo forced to become traveling partners in a desperate attempt to get home to loved ones for Thanksgiving after their flights are canceled. A slew of holiday-related travel disasters between the abrasive pair follow.
Aeysha Carr (“Brooklyn 99,” “Woke”) will write the script while Hart and Smith produce.
