“Slylock Fox” Animated Feature Planned

Andrews McMeel Publishing

King Features Syndicate has begun the development of an animated feature inspired by the interactive children’s comic strip “Slylock Fox” which has been around since 1987.

The story follows a Sherlock-Holmes-esque detective named Slylock Fox and his devoted sidekick, Max Mouse, as they match wits against a cast of eccentric villains.

The literary material teaches young readers about interesting topics and encourages them to use facts, logic, attention to detail, lateral thinking and other cognitive thinking skills.

Evan Daugherty (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Snow White and the Huntsman”) will write and produce, with Chromosphere handling the art direction.

King Features is also behind the Netflix series “The Cuphead Show” based on the popular video game.
